This Starbucks Pink Drink recipe is the perfect copycat, made with passion tea, strawberry sparkling water and creamy coconut milk.

Ingredients and substitutions
- Strawberries – I use freeze-dried strawberries but fresh or frozen berries would work as well.
- Passion tea – the TAZO® Passion
Tea is best. You could try another herbal tea made with rose hips, hibiscus and/or orange peel.
- White grape juice – you could try using apple juice but the flavour will be quite different. Make sure you don’t use purple grape juice, as it’ll make your drink too dark.
- Strawberry sparkling water – Perrier has a strawberry sparkling water but plain sparkling water would also work.
- Coconut milk – coconut cream or half-and-half with a few drops of coconut extract would work in a pinch. For a low-fat version, use light coconut milk.

Starbucks pink drink tips
Here are some of my top tips for this Starbucks pink drink recipe:
- Use TAZO® Passion
Tea: It will give you the most authentic flavor, since that's the brand that's used to make Starbucks' drinks. You can buy the TAZO® tea bags here.
- Add a bite of sweetness: If you want this drink to have a sweeter taste, add some simple syrup to the glass before adding the strawberries then give the drink a stir (boil 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a saucepan over low heat then let it cool in a mason jar in the fridge).
- Make a pitcher-full: Double, triple or quadruple the ingredients to make a pitcher of this pink drink for a party or BBQ with friends.
- Use frozen, freeze-dried or fresh strawberries: I prefer freeze-dried sliced strawberries, but you can use fresh or frozen if it's all you have on hand.

Frequently Asked Questions
The original Starbucks pink drink does have a bit of caffeine in it from the green coffee extract, but this Starbucks copycat recipe is caffeine-free as long as you use an herbal tea like the TAZO® Passion Tea. If you want to add caffeine, brew some green tea along with the passion tea.
This beverage is best made fresh, so I wouldn't recommend making it ahead of time. The only thing you could probably prep ahead is the passion tea – brew it and store it in the fridge for a day or two before using it to make your pink drink.
You could try using apple juice instead of white grape juice, but it'll give your drink a different flavour. The original Starbucks version uses a strawberry acai base, but I've never seen that in grocery stores before, so for the best results, use white grape juice.
The Starbucks pink drink is traditionally made with coconut milk, but you can make it with another milk of your choice like half-and-half or regular milk. If you're not using coconut milk, you might want to add a couple drops of coconut extract so you're still getting the coconut flavour.
There is a pretty large difference in the calories in my copycat version of the pink drink versus the Starbucks version. One 12 oz. serving of the original Starbucks version has 110 calories, whereas the same portion size for my copycat Starbucks pink drink recipe has just 56 calories. My version shaves off calories by using sparkling water to bring flavour instead of relying on juice alone.
